Those of us using a DSLR need to be aware of the number of shutter actuation's. Every DSLR will, sooner or later, have it's shutter give out. We don't want that to happen on an important photo shoot or while on vacation so do yourself a favor and check it. I use this site - www.camerashuttercount.com/
Just upload the latest shot without resizing or changing it in any way and it will give you the exact number of times that your shutter has been cycled. I know most of you already know this but thought I would pass it along for those that don't. When that number gets close to the manufacturer's estimate it's time to have it rebuilt.

It's an island off the coast of Georgia. Great place to spend your vacation if you love sand sea and birds. LOL I don't get a penny to say this but it is a great place to enjoy life and photography without needing a passport :)

It has become time to decide here in my country what is important to YOU and YOURs -- putting politics before being a patriot or the reverse. Frankly I don't give a crap what your political views are but I sure as hell care what you put first. When Facebook decided to pull the remarks made by our patriot American SEALS that was the straw that broke the back for me. Oh yes NOW Facebook sez it was a mistake LOL you believe that I will be happy to sell you a bridge in NY. Yes of course I could go on about the death of our diplomat and the other patriots that died with no help from our government but why bother when it seems politics outweigh being a patriot. Take the time to think about what really matters to you!!!

Ok based on the murders of our embassy diplomats in Libya what course should we take? Oh of course we could walk into their embassy in DC kill everyone we can find which of course being an honorable country with respect for international law we would never do. Then of course we could nuke Libya to the point that country could no longer be inhabited. Of course Regan should have done that years ago. Since the UN will just punt on this I think we should just nuke Libya so badly it can never be inhabited again ever. If we don't consider this--other nations will think hey why not kill our diplomats we will do nothing to protect them based on international law.  What say you?

Ask yourself this!!! Is it money that drives you or is it better to help others in need? Think about that for awhile --- do some soul searching........... For me I will always choose to help a friend that really needs help. You might not be able to help with money but you can always offer support to another in need. Candy might be mad at me for saying this but she could use some help especially now. So please give her your support.

Ok I don't think I have ever recommended a film to watch but I have to give a grade AAA to this one. It's a Robert Redford production called DOMINO about a female bounty hunter. I have watched it at least 3 times including just now. It is only available on the Sundance channel and maybe on the net somewhere but if you get a chance to see it you should!! BTW don't let young children watch it but it is outstanding.

I have a question for my Nikon friends. I have been thinking about buying the Tamaron 18-270mm macro street price about $600. Now I see Nikon has come out with this lens. AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR priced at $999.99 :) I can't find any reviews about the Nikon lens but have read several on the Tamaron. Have any of my Nikon friends used or have read reviews on either of these?? I have been using the 18-105mm Nikon lens for portraiture but really do need to use one of the two I mentioned above.

OK :):) I want to thank the DAs that didn't change their name cause at my age I can't figure out who is who any more LOL! :)

I am wayyyyyyyy behind doing features of my watchers so if your interested in me featuring you just NOTE me with 4 thumbs of the images you would like me to feature for you and I will be glad to feature your work on my page.

Before I bought my Nikon D7000 I was and still use 2 Nikon D90s. I had read reviews on the D7000 and they say basically no difference unless doing video LOL obviously they ignore the wonderful detail especially in the shadows that the D7000 has and leaves the D90 in the past. Also the noise in the D90s is very obvious and the D7000 eliminates most if not all of it. I would appreciate anyone commenting that sees things differently.

Just look at this image Blue Jay 5-16-12 by Tailgun2009 compared to others shot with my D90s in my gallery and the difference is obvious.

Hey Russ, did you hear the background story about that housekeeper in New York that freaked out and killed her employer's 2 kids, then stabbed herself?
The cops keeps trying to link it with the mother and her blog site about her kids....

A rather obvious redirection if I even heard one.

The hubby was a CNBC digital media executive. Earlier that day, against the "advice" of others, he'd OK'd the placement of a news article on the official website. Other smaller independant sites had been following it, but CNBC was the only "major" news source to promote the story. (I haven't heard a peep about it on any of the other major news or TV media sources.) As soon as the murders occurred, the page was yanked from open display and stored in the site's cache. (I was able to get to it that day, but now the original page has been removed).

LOL! Of course, the article was copied and saved elsewhere immediately....
It's a really interesting read:
[link]

The article describes a FEDERAL lawsuit now pending in the District Court of Brooklyn, New York in connection with money laundering and racketeering of $43 TRILLION, identifying key execs in both banking and government positions.

So hubby OKs a page on the site...
and a little more than 3 hours later his housekeeper flips out and kills 2 of his kids...
NAW....
that isn't suspicious...

I don't understand how you could possibly even consider using a nuke again. If you asked me, i would say that it's the closest to nazism in modern times if people say nuking a whole country to death because some people did something stupid was legit... Please i am calling noone anything, neither i want to offend anyone. But you can't be serious. One could think about your diplomats leaving the country and not to come back (excuse my English- I don't know a better way to say that...). When thinking in long terms the mentioned "solutions" would do more bad than good to the US.

I respect your comment. My view is with total disrespect for international law concerning diplomats and embassies around the world. If we just make a minor response as you suggest it will just give others the idea we really don't care about international law and those that work in our overseas embassies can fend for themselves. I of course don't have the best solutions but if we don't take a stand and say international law is to be honored and respected then we no longer have this so called international law and it will become obsolete and countries will do as they wish with any embassy they disagree with the politics of that country.

I get your idea. Correct me, if I'm wrong but I got out of your reply that your motivation to whatsoever reaction is to "take a stand"? You would nuke a complete country to take a stand? I can't believe that's really your opinion, especially if you think about the last few years in that country and what the people have gone through.

What these people (only the ones who took action, not all citizens of that country) did, was wrong. And I think we all agree on that. And I think, what Obama said is completely right. We have to get these people into court and imprison them as they are a danger for society.

Nevertheless we have to acknowledge the situation in that country. I, personally, think that it was an act of frustration - maybe because these people wished for more help from the US - maybe because they thought it was their thing and not the US'. I can't really tell and I think nobody who is outside of the country really can.

You always have to make compromises, but I think that this country is on its way to a democracy that might actually work. They're not completely there, yet, but they'll get there. We should rather support them in their action then punish them for some "normal" behaviour in order to free themselves (compare French Revolution, the Civil War, Polish Revolution, Weimar Republic etc.)

First, I wouldn't even hurt a flea until the flea hurts me. Suppose,of course this would be unthinkable, the Chinese or Russian embassy has been attacked and their diplomats killed? Any idea what would happen? Second, now see how this has spread to Egypt and Yemen and undoubted to more countries? This isn't an isolated case in Libya. Countries must respect international law period!! without that respect it is one against the other.

As Gandhi has shown, it might even be the "wrong" or at least an unnecessary way to hurt anyone at all. I personally don't like the Russian government and the Chinese government even less. I am happy that this didn't happen. And as I suppose, you think that America or at least its government is better then the Russian or Chinese one? If so, why would you like to react in a way you expect them to react?
I'm not quite sure what you mean with "this" in your "second..." statement.

No I don't feel my government is any better than that of any civilized nation's government. I have a problem with my whole country be condemned for the actions of a very few and their (Libyan) revenge taken out on Americans trying to help Libya and had no part in that stupid film production and most likely didn't even know about the film. I only have a problem with those than have a problem with me because of me being a patriotic American. Alright consider instead of taking the death of our well meaning diplomats in Libya by attacking just those that did the killing we said Oh lets just walk into the Libyan embassy in Washington DC and kill everyone we could find there. We don't do things like that nor should Libya have allowed it there.

- There you go. That's exactly what my problem was in your previous comment in which you suggested to nuke a country in which some people did something wrong but most didn't and problably only heard on the news about it. I guess that was just the temper in action... Just as they did maybe? We aren't that different I guess...

I think sometimes my initial reaction comes from being Irish, Italian and Native American all rolled into one. After thinking -- I told you what I really do believe and seems you agree. We can't attack a country based on the actions of a few that do these things. I think my country does just that that (hold those responsible not the whole country). But other countries seem to blame mine for actions of a very small group of people.

Sanctions Smanctions. If they have no respect for international law, why should we, concerning them? We can't because we're "good guys" kill them, but we can evict them, or better yet, imprison them. Innocent or not, it's THEIR country that did it. They take their chances. We have to do SOMETHING. I personally agree that we should nuke them out of existence, then I guarantee other countries would think twice before messing with us. But I'm also realistic enough to know it's not going to happen. I'm at a loss at what to actually do, I just know we have to do SOMETHING. And NOW.

Our diplomats have families just like you and me and they are supposed to be protected by international law. Obviously that law is ignored by them. We either have and obey international law by all the countries or we don't. Any country that ignores that law needs to be removed from existing.

Sanctions are the only way. No country should play God and take over and interfere, besides their are way too many civilians who are innocent and didn't ask for the war and we won't even speak about the suffering of the innocent "CHILDREN" Very sensitive subject.

I have been there done that in Nam. However if international law protects or is supposed to protect any and all diplomats from acts like this just how such a country react to embassy personnel being murdered in cold blood. You give an inch they take a mile if we don't draw the line now expect this to happen in many places.

I know that many lives are being lost in horrific circumstances as we speak but there just has to be another way to bring stability to the country.I have witnessed enough on the news and I honestly don't think going in there and causing more blood shed is the solution. It would be nice if countries could go into Libya and remove all civilians (especially the children) who have no interest in the war. There just has to be a solution other than...

I would never want to harm innocent children or woman but there somehow must be protection for international law that should prevent what just happened. If we just turn the other cheek we will see the same thing happen over and over. We just need to say international law protects all diplomats that are located in other countries period. Otherwise it will continue to happen. I never want to see another patriotic American killed or having lost limbs or having mental problems. That is why I say mess with us this way you die by way of nuke. No more American lives should be lost for any reason when we have the way to end any conflict with the push of a button. Nukes were supposed to be our way of stopping war in saying attack an American this is what will happen but oh no it no longer means anything to deter our enemies from attacking us. They know we won't use them so what in the hell are they good for??

Retaliation doesn't work. I for one, don't want to see anybody ever nuked again, especially innocent civilians, and starting yet another war won't be any more successful than the ones in Korea, Vietnam, Iran, and Afghanistan, outside of the fact that we just plain old can't afford it. Cut them off of aid, place embargoes on them, whatever, but please, not another war.

It isn't retaliation when international law which protects diplomats all over the world no matter their country when in another country that is what international law states. They obviously have no respect for international law we aren't talking about our laws we are talking about international law. Should we not respond then we will continue to see this over and over again.
